Getting creative with photographic backdrops

My memories of photographic backdrops are not great. They take me back to my childhood photo shoot sessions (really cheesy quality
). I have in mind those old time muslin or canvas photographers backdrops that were hand painted and usually plain hideous.
BUT….
This is a digital era and you might want to shoot something against a blue or green background to replace it in post production with a fancy digital background.
If you are not a fan of digital post production you can always buy physical photographic backdrops, made either from paper or fabric but computer printed or solid colors.
